Alan serves as the CEO for Lakeshore Recycling Systems, the Midwest’s leading independent recycling and waste solutions company. Under his award-winning leadership, LRS has grown from $50 million in sales and 220 employees in 2013 to nearly $250 million in sales and 1,000 employees today. Under Alan’s guidance and anchored by a relentless vision of sustainability, LRS has experienced extraordinary organic and acquisition driven growth. On M&A, Lakeshore has closed fourteen acquisitions throughout northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin in the last 60 months. With 15 facilities located throughout Illinois and Wisconsin, LRS controls and processes over 2.5 million tons of waste material a year and recycles or diverts over fifty percent of that volume.
Alan also serves as chairman of the board where he works closely with the Goldman Sachs and other stakeholders in developing and executing long-term strategy as well as company growth. Alan has nearly 28 years of experience in growing and leading companies across numerous industries both domestically and internationally. He serves on board of advisors for Northern Illinois University’s College of Business, the Lupus Society of Illinois and is very active in supporting autoimmune research at the University of Chicago - Medicine. He obtained his MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University where he has served as an adjunct professor in the Department for Entrepreneurial Studies and his Bachelor of Science from Northern Illinois University.
