President and CEO, Mazza Recycling Services and Affiliates

James Mazza Jr. is President and CEO of Mazza Recycling Services and Affiliates, a role he has held since June 2017.  Previously, he served as Chief Operating Officer for four years.  James began working with the Mazza Recycling family of companies in 2007.  He began his career in the demolition and recycling industry operating machinery and managing demolition jobs at the age of 15. Over the past decade, he has worked at changing the central focus of Mazza from a construction and site work company to a full-service, state-of-the-art recycling facility, guided by values of sustainability, commitment to the environment, and community.  James' vision and strategic thinking prompted him to develop several of Mazza‘s now fundamental divisions, including roll off and commercial front load collection service, and single stream, paper, and plastic recycling operations.  In 2014, James launched Mazza Mulch Inc, now the largest producer of mulch and landscape products in the tristate area. James spearheads the operations unit of the company and directs strategic and tactical matters as they relate to facilities' management. His innovation and long-term planning is instrumental in fostering and cultivating the company’s business relationships.  Under James' leadership, Mazza Recycling has developed into a comprehensive recycling and collection company serving the residential, commercial, and municipal recycling needs of Monmouth, Ocean, and Middlesex counties. James has steered the Mazza family business towards the environmental needs of the 21st century, while adhering to a focus on safety, customer service, and sound sustainability principles. 

In 2020, Jimmy was awarded Waste360’s 40 Under 40 award, which recognizes inspiring and innovative professionals whose work in waste and recycling has made a significant contribution to the industry.  Jimmy earned a B.A. in Business Administration from La Salle University.
