Be Warned Regarding Unofficial Vendors

Paper & Plastics Recycling Conference exhibitors have reported receiving solicitations from vendors NOT affiliated with Paper & Plastics Recycling Conference specifically regarding hotel reservations and attendee list sales.

We urge all exhibitors to be especially diligent when engaging with any vendor who is not an official contractor of Paper & Plastics Recycling Conference. Paper & Plastics Recycling Conference vendors will never send emails from a non-business account such as Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, etc.

Attendee Email List Scams

We would like to remind all exhibitors that the attendee mailing list for Paper & Plastics Recycling Conference is only available through the published Paper & Plastics Recycling Conference event app. Any solicitation claiming to have the email list of Paper & Plastics Recycling Conference attendees, or attendee lists from any past Recycling Today events, is fraudulent. Recycling Today does not release, sell or rent the attendee email list to outside parties. All exhibitors and sponsors will receive copies of the attendee list prior to and post event in the weeks leading up to the conference.

Hotel Reservation Scams

Paper & Plastics Recycling Conference/Recycling Today has received reports from exhibitors who booked hotel rooms through various third parties only to subsequently learn that no reservations were in place and their deposits, along with full prepayment, were not returned.

Additionally, numerous convention bureaus are reporting hundreds of complaints from trade show managers who are receiving similar reports from exhibiting companies who booked rooms through a “third party room broker” and ended up at sold-out hotels with no reservations and no recourse for the payment of rooms. These brokers falsely imply they are affiliated with show management and secure deposits and/or full prepayment from exhibiting companies.

The Official Hotel Reservation method for Paper & Plastics Recycling Conference is directly through the group room block set up with the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Paper & Plastics Recycling Conference has no affiliation with any other room brokers. Reserving rooms directly through the Hyatt Regency Chicago is the only method is officially sanctioned method by Paper & Plastics Recycling Conference to book hotel rooms on behalf of its exhibitors and attendees.
