Robin Waters is currently Executive Director at Chemical Market Analytics (by OPIS, a Dow Jones Company) where he is responsible for the content for the Circular Plastics & Chemicals Sustainability business within the Base Chemicals & Plastics group.

He joined Chemical Market Analytics by OPIS on June 1, 2022, following the acquisition of IHS Markit Base Chemicals. Robin joined IHS Markit in September 2012 as Director, Polyolefins North America and brings to his role over 30 years of industry experience with DuPont and LyondellBasell.

Robin's responsibilities cover the transition of plastics ecosystem from a linear to circular model as service lead for the Circular Plastics Service launched in July 2021.  In his current role, he directs the Research & Insight activities associated with the dynamics and implications of the reverse supply/demand chain for plastics, carbon emissions and plastics reuse, reduction, and recycle.  Special focus involves segmented demand analyses, plastic waste supply & logistics, mechanical and chemical recycle supply, government regulations and stakeholder policies, price and margin analytics for recycled materials and strategic implications of the plastics transition to a circular ecosystem. In this capacity he also supports other market advisory services as well as single client projects and studies related to polyolefins and plastics sustainability.

Robin received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Georgia and an MBA from the University of Miami.
